Chester County Issues Heat Advisory: Stay Cool and Safe
ALL CHESTER COUNTY — A heat advisory is in effect for Chester County, with temperatures projected to rise significantly through the weekend. This extreme heat can lead to various health issues, particularly for young children, the elderly, and those with chronic conditions. Residents are urged to drink plenty of non-alcoholic, caffeine-free beverages, wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing, and stay in air-conditioned spaces as much as possible. Avoiding strenuous activities and checking on vulnerable neighbors is also advised.
To support those without adequate cooling, several splash pads and cooling stations are available, and seniors can reach out to the Department of Aging for help. During power outages, residents should contact their power providers directly.
Chester County has enacted Code Red procedures, activating additional resources and recommendations to assist residents during periods of extreme heat. These measures aim to ensure the safety and well-being of all community members during this challenging weather. More on Chesco’s website
