Chester County to Kick Off 30th Annual Town Tours & Village Walks

WEST CHESTER, PA — On June 6, the Chester County Planning Commission will initiate its 30th annual Town Tours & Village Walks program at the Chester County History Center. This year’s event will spotlight the 225th anniversary of the Borough of West Chester, chronicling its development from a modest Quaker farming village into a lively, contemporary community.

Downingtown’s Yaduraj Choudhary Named 2024 Prudential Emerging Visionary

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Yaduraj Choudhary of Downingtown has earned the title of 2024 Prudential Emerging Visionary for his dedication to improving hearing health and inclusivity through his initiative "3 Tiny Bones." This project, which aims to destigmatize hearing loss and educate youth on healthy hearing habits, has already established Safe Hearing Zones in six schools and influenced legislative efforts in Pennsylvania. As one of 25 recipients, Choudhary received a $5,000 award and participated in a mentorship program at Prudential’s Newark headquarters. His achievement was also prominently displayed on a Times Square billboard.

With 23 years of experience in Chester County libraries, Persick aims to enhance the libraries as community resources, overseeing a vast collection and numerous programs.

Chester County Parks Welcomes Jeffrey Whitman as Full-Time Ranger


CHESTER COUNTY — Jeffrey Whitman has been elevated to the position of full-time Chester County Park Ranger after dedicating nine years as a part-time ranger. With previous ranger experience in neighboring counties, Whitman brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. As a full-time ranger, he will be responsible for enforcing park rules and regulations, managing natural resources, providing medical services, conducting educational programs, and offering general visitor assistance.

Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of Maryland Resident in Chester County


On Sunday, Adam Frye, 41, of Aberdeen, Maryland, died in a motorcycle crash on Limestone Road in Highland. State police responded to the scene at 12:02 p.m. after reports of a motorcycle accident. Preliminary findings suggest that Frye was traveling north at a speed too fast for the conditions, resulting in a loss of control and his motorcycle veering off into a field. Emergency services, including the Cochranville Fire Company, Medic 94, Parkesburg Police, and the Chester County Coroner’s Office, attended the scene. The road was closed for several hours during the investigation.

Bam Margera and Dannii Marie Tie the Knot in New Mexico


West Chester native and former "Jackass" star Bam Margera married model Dannii Marie on May 28 at the Val Verde Historic Hotel in Socorro County, New Mexico. The wedding took place where the couple is filming "Collecting Souls," a movie in which Marie stars.
