Major Sinkhole Shuts Down Boot Road in Downingtown

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — A large sinkhole has caused the complete closure of Boot Road at Southwind Drive in Downingtown. Drivers are advised to use Quarry Road or Route 322 for access. Large trucks not making local deliveries should avoid the area due to bridge restrictions. The road is expected to remain closed until further notice.

West Chester Mother Searches for Missing Daughter Amid Family Tragedies


CHATSWORTH, NJ — Sue Quackenbush, a mother from West Chester, Pennsylvania, is enduring unimaginable pain as her only surviving child, Danielle Lopez, has disappeared under suspicious circumstances. Lopez, 37, was last seen at a Wawa store in Vincetown, New Jersey, on April 13. Her car was later discovered abandoned in Penn State Forest. This follows the tragic deaths of Quackenbush's two sons: Eric, who took his own life, and Michael, a Marine who died in a car crash. The New Jersey State Police are investigating, and the public is asked to assist with any information that could help locate Danielle.

Springton Manor Farm to Host Educational Native Tree Program

GLENMOORE, PA — On June 8, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., Springton Manor Farm will welcome nature enthusiasts of all ages to a native tree program, held in partnership with the Echo Dell Nature Conservancy and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of Forestry. This educational event aims to highlight the importance of native trees in maintaining healthy ecosystems. Participants will engage in a guided walk through the scenic terrain of Springton Manor Farm, learning about various native tree species and their ecological benefits. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed for outdoor conditions to fully enjoy the experience.

Learn Beekeeping at The Mill at Anselma on June 9


CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — Tim Ferris will deliver a free lecture on beekeeping at The Mill at Anselma on June 9 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. This lecture, part of the Mill’s speaker series, is titled “Extract and Box” and will feature insights from Extract and Box LLC. The company, which adheres to ISO 9001 standards and Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture regulations, specializes in harvesting bee by-products and providing apiary management services. The event aims to highlight the importance of bees in our ecosystem, sustainable management practices, and environmental stewardship.
