Guilty Plea: Chester County Man's Escape Echoes in Cavalcante Case

Igor Bolte

WEST CHESTER โ€” Igor Bolte's guilty plea on charges stemming from his prison escape shed light on security vulnerabilities at Chester County Prison, inadvertently aiding Danelo Cavalcante's escape. Appearing before Judge Patrick Carmody, Bolte admitted to fleeing the facility, resulting in an 18 to 60-month state prison sentence.

Bolte's escape method, characterized by his rock-climbing skills, was copied by the infamous escape by Cavalcante, after the county failed to implement adequate measures to prevent such an escape from happening again. While Bolte was swiftly captured within 10 minutes, Cavalcante managed to evade authorities for 14 days, highlighting lapses in monitoring and security protocols.
