Nighttime Lane Closures on Exton Bypass to Cause Traffic Delays Until Early May

EXTON β€” Motorists traveling along the Exton Bypass in Chester County should prepare for nighttime slowdowns from April 1 to early May. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced lane closures on both directions of U.S. 30 between the Clover Mill Road bridge and the Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) Interchange. These closures are necessary for essential soil boring operations, crucial for assessing soil conditions ahead of planned roadway improvements.

Between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM, lane closures will be in effect, leading to anticipated traffic delays. PennDOT emphasizes the significance of these operations as they provide vital data for ensuring the safety and durability of future infrastructure projects along this crucial transportation route. While acknowledging the inconvenience to commuters and travelers, PennDOT urges motorists to allocate extra time for their journeys during this period.

State Grant Bolsters Riverfront Development in Royersford

ROYERSFORD β€” Riverfront at Royersford LLC, the developer behind a proposed mixed-use development along Royersford's riverfront, has secured a $335,000 grant from the Multimodal Transportation Fund for the construction of a trail connecting the site to Limerick Township. Despite the absence of visible progress on the trail, the completion of the trestle bridge refurbishment signifies a significant step forward for the project.

The development, slated to feature housing, retail, and entertainment options, aims to rejuvenate the area adjacent to the Schuylkill River. With more than $4 million in state funding allocated to various aspects of the project, including the trail and infrastructure development, Riverfront at Royersford LLC is poised to bring economic and recreational opportunities to the region.

While concerns about security along the Schuylkill River Trail persist, local residents and visitors have begun to explore the refurbished bridge, underscoring the growing anticipation for the completion of the broader development initiative.
