Chester County Achieves Triple-A Bond Rating, Bolsters Investment in Capital Projects
Chester County Government recently received confirmation of its highest bond ratings, reaffirming its Triple-A status from Moodyโs, Standard & Poorโs, and Fitch Ratings. This recognition, achieved consistently over several years, places Chester County among the select few counties nationwide to hold such esteemed financial standing. The reaffirmation comes as a testament to the county's stable economy, strong financial policies, and adherence to comprehensive financial management practices.
The Triple-A ratings hold significant implications for Chester County's investment in capital projects. Commissioners, led by Josh Maxwell, Marian Moskowitz, and Eric Roe, approved an ordinance authorizing a bond issue to fund various initiatives aimed at enhancing community infrastructure and services. These projects include the preservation of Crebilly Farm, improvements to Ash Park in Coatesville, and downtown revitalization efforts in Oxford. Additionally, funds will support preliminary design and engineering for the Chester Valley Trail P&T Corridor extension and a new fire and emergency medical services paging system.
