PREIT, owner of several local malls, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time since 2020. The filing outlines a plan to reduce debt by $880 million, with support from lenders. The company aims to emerge from bankruptcy in early February, canceling existing shares and going private. Shareholders will receive $10 million. Economic challenges post-pandemic led to this move. PREIT secured $135 million in new financing. This follows unsuccessful efforts in November 2021 to maximize shareholder value.

Participants must follow the CTPD on Facebook, identify all photo locations, and message them by December 22 for a chance to win a $100 Visaยฎ Gift Card. Child & Babysitting Safety: ASHI Program Offers Comprehensive Learning for Young Aspiring Babysitters
ASHI presents the Child & Babysitting Safety (CABS) in-person course for ages 8 to 13, covering babysitting essentials from business initiation to CPR and first aid. Lunch is included, and successful completion leads to a two-year ASHI CABS certification. Attendees receive a free business starter bag and first aid kit. Next upcoming session is December 27, 2023 at the Uwchlan Ambulance Corps.
Final Opportunity: CCEDC Extends Support for Student Education
Chester County Economic Development Council is offering a final opportunity for students to apply for financial support under the concluding "RECONNECT" project. With 40 slots available, the program covers tuition and provides support services for healthcare, technology, and education. Since its June 2023 launch, 63 students enrolled, with seven graduating from institutions including Chestnut Hill College, Penn State University, and more.
