Residents keen on understanding the future developments in Chester County's trail and public transportation networks are encouraged to attend an informative session hosted by the Chester County Planning Commission. The event, scheduled for December 12th, provides the option to participate either in person at the Downingtown Borough Hall Annex or virtually through Zoom. To sweeten the deal, attendees will be treated to pizza and light refreshments. Unlocking Support: Kennett Square Police Distributes Free Resources for Substance Use Assistance
Kennett Square Police Department, in partnership with Chester County Drug & Alcohol Services, offers free resources to the community. Available in English and Spanish digitally, resources include medication lock boxes, family help books, and resource cards. Lock boxes are secure storage for prescription meds, family help books guide through substance use disorder resources, and resource cards list county-funded services. Valuable for parents, caregivers, social service workers, and educators.
Landenberg Residents Attempt to Obstruct Proposed Campsite at State Park
Landenberg residents are opposing a proposed campsite in Big Elk Creek State Park, which would serve many visitors from the region, expressing concerns about environmental impacts and quality of life issues. Despite assurances from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), residents remain adamant, backed by over a thousand petition signatures, prompting a broader debate on balancing camping demand with preserving the residents' tranquility.
