Hankin Group Commemorates River Station Redevelopment with Appreciation Event
The Hankin Group orchestrated an appreciation event at River Station to celebrate the redevelopment of the former Sonoco paper mill in Downingtown. Attended by community leaders and government officials, the event aimed to recognize the accomplishments of River Station's Phase I completion. It commenced with tours of the clubhouse and model, showcasing the luxurious amenities. Bob Hankin, CEO of Hankin Group, expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders in this transformative project. Chester County Commissioner Josh Maxwell praised the economic prospects of River Station and emphasized its value to the community. Several other speakers shared their appreciation and acknowledged the significant achievement of this development. The event marked the dedication of those involved and the successful completion of Phase I, with River Station already witnessing an increase in residents.
District Attorney Hopefuls Address Safety Concerns Post-Prison Escape in Chester County
The Chester County district attorney race is unfolding amid discussions of reform and heightened safety after a convicted murderer escaped the county prison. Republican Ryan Hyde and Democrat Chris de Barrena-Sarobe, both former county prosecutors, are in the running to replace District Attorney Deb Ryan. They've both emphasized learning from the recent prison escape of Danilo Cavalcante, promising enhanced safety measures and understanding the incidents leading to the escape. De Barrena-Sarobe stressed the importance of learning from prior prison escapes, emphasizing the need to question authorities about preventive measures. Meanwhile, Hyde pointed to systemic issues within the prosecution, highlighting high staff turnover and a rise in quality-of-life crimes. Both candidates are looking to address addiction-related crimes and streamline cases, but each believes they possess unique strengths, Hyde with his defense attorney experience and local insight and de Barrena-Sarobe with his federal prosecution background and resources. Despite differing views, the candidates aim to focus on solutions rather than engaging in negative campaigning.
