Winter Storm to Bring Up to 5 Inches of Snow to Region This Weekend

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — A winter storm is forecast to bring 2 to 4 inches of snow to southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey late Saturday into Sunday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Delaware and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania and central and southeastern New Jersey, where up to 4 inches is expected. Areas along the I-95 corridor could see the heaviest accumulation, with 4 to 5 inches possible. The snow should end by Sunday afternoon, followed by clearing but cold and windy conditions.

Whitford Country Club Event Raises $100,000 for Chester County Charities

EXTON, PA — The Whitford Charitable Classic has distributed $100,000 in grants to 10 Chester County nonprofits, with each organization receiving $10,000. The funds were raised during a September weekend event at Whitford Country Club that featured golf, tennis, and pickleball tournaments, along with a gala and auction. Since 2011, the annual fundraiser has generated more than $1.6 million for local charities and supported over 94 organizations in the region.

Brandywine Valley SPCA to Host Weekend Mega Adoption Event

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Brandywine Valley SPCA's Mega Adoption Event, described as the nation's largest pet adoption event, returns this weekend with hundreds of animals seeking homes. The event runs December 13-14 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at all BVSPCA locations and partner shelters. Adoptions cost $35 and include spaying/neutering, microchipping, and vaccinations. Fast Pass early access is available Saturday morning for $50. The event has placed more than 18,000 animals with families since it began.

Upper Uwchlan Township Offers Free Holiday Craft Kits for Kids

UPPER UWCHLAN TWP — Upper Uwchlan Township has announced it is distributing complimentary holiday craft kits to children in the community, providing a seasonal activity for families during the winter break.

The snowman craft kits are available for pickup at the township office, located at 140 Pottstown Pike in Chester Springs, during regular business hours. Families can visit Monday through Thursday between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., or on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to collect a kit.
