Portion of Whitford Road Shutdown Through Late April

WEST WHITELAND TWP โ€” Heads up! Taking the back roads in West Whiteland might take a little bit longer. The Township has implemented a weekday closure on Whitford Road between Huffman Drive and Devon Drive, running from March 23 through April 30. The road is shut to through traffic each weekday during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. To manage the disruption, officials have designated an alternate route network utilizing Business U.S. Route 30 (Lincoln Highway), Route 100 (Pottstown Pike), Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue), and Crump Road. Residents and commuters who travel through this part of the township during midday hours should expect delays and are advised to factor additional travel time into their daily plans for the duration of the closure.

Single-Lane Traffic Expected on Norwood Road During Friday Trimming Operation

EAST CALN TWP โ€” East Caln Township has issued a warning to drivers ahead of tree trimming work scheduled for Norwood Road on Friday, March 27. The maintenance operation will narrow the road to a single lane for much of the day, with the possibility of brief full closures as crews work in the area. Township officials are asking motorists to slow down and exercise caution when passing through and are recommending that those with flexible routes consider bypassing Norwood Road entirely to avoid unpredictable delays. Because lane restrictions and closures may come and go throughout the day depending on where crews are working, delays are difficult to forecast but should be anticipated by anyone planning to travel the corridor that day.

Chester County Wants 50 Volunteer Groups to Help Beautify the Region by the End of the Year

WEST CHESTER, PA โ€” As the country prepares to mark its 250th anniversary, Keep Chester County Beautiful and the America250 in Chester County campaign are mobilizing volunteers to clean up and beautify public spaces across the region. The initiative aims to enlist 50 volunteer groups by the close of 2026, with participants adopting stretches of roadway, parks, trails, waterways, and historic sites for regular maintenance and litter removal. Volunteers can get involved through PennDOT's Adopt-A-Highway or Adopt and Beautify programs for state roads, or through Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful's Land Stewards program for municipal and non-state-maintained areas. Free supplies, including gloves, vests, and trash bags, are available to registered participants. Those not ready to lead their own effort can still contribute by joining one of the many existing cleanup events already organized throughout the county. All groups are encouraged to hold at least two registered cleanup events before July 4, 2026. Full program details and an interactive map of available adoption sites can be found at chescoplanning.org

Upper Uwchlan Township Street Sweeping Begins Monday

UPPER UWCHLAN TWP โ€” Upper Uwchlan Township is launching its 2026 street sweeping season on Monday, March 30, marking the start of the annual effort to clear township roads after the winter months. Officials are reminding residents to refrain from parking on streets while sweeping is underway, as parked vehicles can force the sweeper to bypass sections of road and delay the overall progress of the program. Because the township operates with a single street sweeper tasked with covering a significant stretch of roadway, the process will unfold gradually over the coming days.
