Chester County Welcome Center Unveils Sweet Treats Exhibit for Holiday Season
WEST CHESTER, PA β Chester County has introduced a seasonal Sweet Treats Exhibit at its Welcome Center, creating an interactive experience designed to attract visitors during the winter months. The exhibit includes several components: a gingerbread competition where the public can help judge entries, a Sweet Treats Bingo program that offers special promotions at participating local businesses, and a rotating weekly spotlight on regional confectioners. This week's featured vendor is Rockin' Cotton Candy Co. The program represents a strategic effort by county tourism officials to leverage the area's growing artisanal food scene while driving economic activity to local establishments during what is typically a quieter season for the hospitality industry.
Free CPR and Stop the Bleed Classes Have Two Openings Saturday

THORNDALE, PA β Two last-minute openings are available for free CPR and Stop the Bleed training this Saturday in Caln Township. The sessions, offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Thorndale Fire Company, are provided by three local fire departments and require advance registration.
Chester County Jail Program Boasts 2% Recidivism Rate With Job Placements
WEST CHESTER, PA β Chester County has achieved notable success with its Exit, Enter, Employ program, which provides inmates with workforce training and guaranteed job interviews before their release. Since launching in January 2023, E3 has graduated more than 100 participants with just a 2 percent recidivism rate. The program differs from traditional jail-based training by partnering directly with local employers who commit to hiring qualified graduates. Participants receive OSHA certification, customer service training, financial planning education, and behavioral therapy. Available only to county jail inmates rather than those serving state prison sentences, the program includes post-release support through regular check-ins during participants' first months of employment.
