Snow Blankets Philadelphia Suburbs, With Nearly 9 Inches in Some Areas
DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Philadelphia region experienced significant snowfall Sunday as a winter storm system deposited vastly different amounts across the metropolitan area, creating a patchwork of accumulation that ranged from just over an inch to nearly nine inches.
Chester County saw large accumulation, with East Nantmeal Township recording 8.8 inches and East Nottingham Township measuring 8.5 inches. Other hard-hit areas included Malvern and Berwyn, both with eight inches, and the Exton area with 7.9 inches. Montgomery, Bucks, Lehigh, Carbon and Northampton counties also experienced heavy snowfall, with multiple communities reporting seven to eight inches.
T-Mobile Awards Coatesville Creative Club Grant for STEAM Education Initiative

COATESVILLE, PA — The Chester County Creative Club received $47,500 from T-Mobile's Hometown Grants program to establish the Future Innovators project, an initiative centered on providing experiential learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. The program targets underprivileged youth and emphasizes workforce development, collaboration and the cultivation of skills relevant to emerging industries.
The Chester County Creative Club operates a comprehensive facility on East Chestnut Street featuring recording studios, a WXPN-affiliated podcast studio, design workspaces, and photography and video production suites. The organization's mission focuses on democratizing access to professional creative technology while fostering innovation and artistic expression in an inclusive setting. TruMark Financial Seeks Student Nominations for 2026 Difference Makers Awards

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — TruMark Financial Credit Union is accepting applications for its 2026 Difference Makers Scholarship, which will award $20,500 to 10 high school seniors engaged in community service across southeastern Pennsylvania. The program offers prizes ranging from $7,500 for first place to $350 for students placing fourth through tenth, while also donating $350 to each finalist's partner nonprofit organization. Eligible applicants must be high school seniors from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery or Philadelphia counties who have completed volunteer projects and can demonstrate community impact. Applications are due April 30, 2026.
Skelp Level Bridge Dedicated to Joel Swisher for Decades of Service

EAST CALN TWP — East Caln Township has dedicated its newly rebuilt Skelp Level Bridge to Joel F. Swisher in recognition of his decades of volunteer service and civic leadership. The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to name the bridge, which reopened in September after complete reconstruction, for the longtime community leader. A dedication plaque will be installed at the site to commemorate Swisher's contributions to the township, which supervisors described as strengthening community connections and improving residents' quality of life.
