West Chester Rings in Holiday Season with Tree Lighting and Parade

WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester's annual Christmas celebration returns Friday with a tree lighting ceremony and hometown parade. The event features a 25-foot tree illumination, musical performances, marching bands, decorated floats, and Santa's arrival. Adam Joseph of 6abc and B101's Kathy Romano will serve as emcees for the festivities, which are presented by Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital and the West Chester Chamber of Commerce.

County Wins International Recognition for Reducing Homelessness

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County has achieved notable success with its Exit, Enter, Employ program, which provides inmates with workforce training and guaranteed job interviews before their release. Since launching in January 2023, E3 has graduated more than 100 participants with just a 2 percent recidivism rate. The program differs from traditional jail-based training by partnering directly with local employers who commit to hiring qualified graduates. Participants receive OSHA certification, customer service training, financial planning education, and behavioral therapy. Available only to county jail inmates rather than those serving state prison sentences, the program includes post-release support through regular check-ins during participants' first months of employment. Caln, Upper Uwchlan Townships Receive Awards at County Conference

SOCHESCO, PA — Caln Township and Upper Uwchlan Township received awards at the Chester County Association of Township Officials annual fall conference. Caln was honored with a sustainability award for environmental and community improvements, while Upper Uwchlan received recognition for transportation planning work related to the Eagle Village development project. Ludwigs Corner Fire Company to Host Free Holiday Event

UPPER UWCHLAN TWP — The Ludwigs Corner Fire Company will host a free holiday event on December 14th at 11am. “Cookies With Santa” will feature refreshments, fire truck displays, and a visit from Santa. The gathering continues a tradition among volunteer fire companies of serving as community gathering places during the holiday season while strengthening connections with residents they serve.
