The incident occurred early Monday morning, causing significant water flow and necessitating the closure. Local authorities have been quick to respond, working to control the situation and evaluate the damage. Traffic has been rerouted, and the community has been advised to avoid the area. As of now, the duration of the closure is unknown, and officials are assessing the scope of the repairs needed.
West Whiteland Police Investigate Theft at Exton GIANT
EXTON, PA — Authorities in West Whiteland are investigating a theft at the Giant supermarket on East Swedesford Road in Exton, Pennsylvania. The theft, which involved a wallet and a cell phone, took place on July 26, 2024. Police are seeking public assistance in identifying an individual caught on surveillance footage. CVC Raises Over $3,800 at First Chief of Police Bartending Competition
MALVERN, PA — On July 17, 2024, the Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County, Inc. (CVC) held its inaugural 'Cheers to CVC' event at Locust Lane Craft Brewery. The highlight was a Chief of Police Bartending Competition featuring Chiefs Lou Marcelli, Michael Carroll, and Josh Lee. The event attracted a lively crowd, eager to support CVC’s mission. The participating chiefs, along with celebrity bartenders, served drinks to guests, competing to raise the most tips. The event raised over $3,800, with all proceeds going towards CVC’s vital services, such as counseling and advocacy for crime victims. Chief Marcelli was declared the winner, and the evening was celebrated for its community spirit and generosity. CVC expressed gratitude to all participants and announced plans for future events.
Upper Uwchlan Township Launches Flag Design Contest
UPPER UWCHLAN TWP — Upper Uwchlan Township is calling on residents and local workers to participate in a contest to design a new township flag. The contest, running from August 5 to August 23, 2024, encourages participants to creatively incorporate township landmarks, the official logo, and the year of establishment, 1858, into their designs. Submissions can be made electronically or in person at the township office.
The Board of Supervisors and township staff will judge the entries, and the winning design will be featured in the Fall Township Newsletter. The design will also be turned into a 3’ x 5’ flag, to be displayed at the township's administrative office and during the Parade of Flags Ceremony at the annual PSATS conference in 2025.
