Chester County Seeks Volunteers to Beautify Communities Ahead of Nation's 250th Anniversary

WEST CHESTER, PA β Chester County has announced an ambitious volunteer recruitment drive aimed at beautifying public spaces across the region ahead of America's 250th anniversary in 2026. The Keep Chester County Beautiful program is seeking 50 volunteer groups to participate in community improvement projects over the next two years.
To support this initiative, county officials are hosting educational webinars designed to prepare volunteers for successful participation. The first session, taking place Friday at noon, will guide participants through the process of adopting public spaces for ongoing care and enhancement. The following week, a second webinar will cover the logistics and safety protocols necessary for organizing effective litter clean-up events.

High Demand Prompts Second Session for Caln's Winter Sowing Class

CALN TWP β The Caln Township Environmental Advisory Council is hosting a free winter sowing workshop on February 7. Due to high demand, a second session was added at 3:30 PM. Participants will learn how to grow native flowers from seed using recycled milk jugs and other household items. All supplies will be provided, and advance registration is required due to limited space.
West Pikeland Township to Compensate Mailbox Damage from Snow Plows

WEST PIKELAND TWP β West Pikeland Township has announced it will compensate property owners whose mailboxes are damaged by municipal snow plows during winter road maintenance.
Township officials acknowledged that despite crews' efforts to operate carefully, damage can occur when heavy plowing equipment navigates residential streets during snow events. The compensation program offers recourse to residents affected by such incidents.
According to the website:
βIf you have suffered damage from snow removal, email us at [email protected]. Include your name, telephone number and street address. We will inspect the damage and make a determination of fault.β
