Three Hurt After Vehicle Crashes Into Downingtown Storefront
DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Downingtown Police are investigating a vehicle crash that injured three people and damaged two businesses on Wallace Avenue Wednesday afternoon. Around 12:55 p.m., a blue Mercedes SUV driven by an adult male struck one storefront and continued through an interior wall into a neighboring shop. Bystanders helped remove the driver, who was treated on-site and declined further care. Three women inside the businesses suffered minor injuries; two were taken to a hospital, while one refused medical transport. Both businesses remain closed pending repairs. Authorities say the crash appears unintentional, and witnesses are being asked to contact police.
Greater West Chester Chamber President to Join Chester County Food Bank
WEST CHESTER, PA — The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce is entering a period of transition following the announcement that its president, Katie Walker, will leave the position on Sept. 2 to join the Chester County Food Bank as senior director of development. Walker, who has twice led the chamber since 2005, is expected to help strengthen the Food Bank’s ties to the local business community. Carly McFadden, the chamber’s director of events and marketing, will serve as interim president with support from operations manager Lisa Leone. A formal search for Walker’s permanent successor is expected to begin in the coming weeks. The chamber currently represents nearly 600 businesses and nonprofits across Chester County.
Uwchlan Township Seeks Public Input on Future Park Projects
UWCHLAN TWP — Uwchlan Township is inviting the public to help shape the future of its parks. Officials are planning upgrades to Lionville Park, a hub for local sports and events, and the creation of a new park on the Rossi Property. Residents of all ages can share their ideas through an online survey. Township leaders say community feedback will play a key role in determining what features and amenities to include in both projects, ensuring the spaces reflect local priorities and needs.
