Uwchlan Township Names Veteran Officer as New Police Chief
UWCHLAN TWP — Uwchlan Township has appointed Jim Fisher, a 30-year law enforcement veteran, as its new police chief effective February 3. Fisher, who previously led the Upper Pottsgrove Township police department and served with the Pennsylvania State Police, takes over following the recent retirement of two department leaders. Township supervisors cited his experience in community policing and officer development as decisive factors in his selection.
Texas Roadhouse to Donate Monday Profits to Tinnitus Research
DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Texas Roadhouse will donate 100 percent of profits from Monday, February 2, to the American Tinnitus Association as part of its annual Dine-to-Donate initiative. The fundraiser, which includes all 721 restaurant locations nationwide, honors late founder Kent Taylor and coincides with Tinnitus Awareness Week. More than 26 million American adults experience tinnitus, a condition involving the perception of sound without external sources.
New Fire Truck for Caln Township Nears Completion
CALN TWP — A new fire truck for Caln Township is nearing completion, with officials from the township's fire department announcing that their Pierce Enforcer apparatus has reached the finishing stages of production. The Caln Township Professional Fire Firefighters and Thorndale Fire Company reported this week that the heavy-duty fire apparatus has advanced to the final assembly line at the manufacturer's facility.
Warwick County Park Hosts Bluebird House-Building Workshop
POTTSTOWN, PA — Chester County Parks is hosting a bluebird box-building workshop on February 22 at Warwick County Park. The three-hour program, led by Ranger Erb, will teach participants about the native songbird and provide an opportunity to build a nesting box for fifteen dollars. The educational portion is free for those who don't wish to purchase materials, and spots remain available for the noon session. Register Online HERE
