UWCHLAN TWP — Uwchlan Township plans to decommission its aging Eagleview Wastewater Treatment Plant and route all wastewater to the Downingtown Area Regional Authority, cutting treatment costs from $5.88 per gallon to under $1. The board of supervisors is expected to approve the shutdown next month, beginning a two-year transition. The roughly $3.6 million construction project, largely funded by developer Hankin Group, is expected to wrap up in 2028 with no impact on taxpayers.

EXTON, PA — Caregivers and family members of adults 60 and older are invited to attend a Caregiver Summit hosted by the Chester County Department of Aging Services on Thursday, May 28, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Chester County Library. The summit is designed to connect local caregivers with practical resources and guidance, with sessions covering how to access help, legal planning for the future, respite options, ways to improve the dementia care experience, and adapted fitness training.

Light refreshments will be served throughout the afternoon, and the first 50 people to RSVP will receive a free gift. Those interested in attending should call 610-344-4171 by May 22 to reserve a spot.

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Planning Commission is seeking a full-time support staff member to join its team at the Government Services Center in Westtown. The position offers 35 hours per week with a starting pay of $21.14 per hour and will remain open until filled.

Responsibilities include supporting planning and zoning reviews, working with databases, reports and spreadsheets, assisting customers and visitors, coordinating meetings and events, and helping advance ongoing county projects. The ideal candidate is proficient in Microsoft Office, comfortable balancing multiple priorities and enjoys collaborative work. UWCHLAN TWP — The township's Environmental Advisory Council has launched a new Healthy Yard Program, timed to Pennsylvania Native Species Day on May 17, to promote sustainable landscaping and recognize residents already practicing it. Modeled after a West Vincent Township initiative, the program invites residents to take an online assessment covering sustainable yard care. Those scoring 15 points or higher can earn a yard sign, digital certificate or public recognition.
