Dowlin Forge Road to Close for Utility Work

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Uwchlan Township residents should prepare for road closures next week as utility crews work to install new telephone lines on Dowlin Forge Road. The affected section, running between Fillman Road and Shelmire Road, will be closed on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, November 19 through 21, as well as Monday, November 24. Daily closures will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During this period, drivers will need to follow posted detour routes via Pennypacker Road, North Milford Road, and Dorlan Mill Road. Township officials have also warned that visitors to Jones Pond Park may experience limited access while the work continues.
Henrietta Hankin Branch Invites Visitors to Craft Thanksgiving Centerpieces

CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — Residents looking to add a personal touch to their Thanksgiving celebrations can visit the Henrietta Hankin Branch Library in Chester Springs this Saturday for a seasonal craft workshop. The library will provide materials for guests to create their own table centerpieces during a drop-in session running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 22.
The library notes that supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested are encouraged to arrive early to participate.
PECO Expands Relief Fund to Help Middle-Income Customers With Energy Bills
DOWNINGTOWN, PA — PECO has expanded its Customer Relief Fund, a $10 million program offering financial assistance to middle-income households struggling with energy bills. Funded through a charitable contribution from Exelon to the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, the program provides qualifying customers with a $750 grant credited to their account. Previous grant recipients are eligible for an additional $250.
To qualify, applicants must be residential PECO customers with household incomes between 151 and 300 percent of the federal poverty level. A family of four, for example, must earn between roughly $48,500 and $96,500 annually. Other requirements include a past-due balance of $2,500 or less and no theft-of-service charges within the last 12 months. Applications are available online and will be accepted through December 31, 2025, or until funds run out.
Chester County Chamber Hosts Forum on Housing and Economic Growth

MALVERN, PA — The Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry and HealthSpark Foundation hosted a regional housing symposium at Villanova University on November 13, drawing more than 200 attendees. The event featured breakout sessions and a keynote by Strong Towns founder Chuck Marohn, with discussions focused on connecting housing availability to workforce development and economic growth.
