Utility Company to Host Open House for Customer Questions

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Community Utilities of Pennsylvania will hold a drop-in customer workshop on December 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. at United Sports. Company operators and leadership will be available to answer questions about projects, rates, billing, assistance programs, and general operations. The informal format allows residents to attend at their convenience.

AgConnect Launches Inaugural Awards for Chester County Farmers


WEST CHESTER, PA — AgConnect has launched the first Best of Chester County Agriculture Awards to recognize individuals shaping the local farming community. Three categories will honor young farmers, women in agriculture, and those making community impacts. Nominations are open through December 13 at go-agconnect.org.

Rapps Dam Road to Close for Covered Bridge Protection Repairs

CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — East Pikeland Township has announced a two-day road closure on Rapps Dam Road to accommodate repairs to protective equipment at a local covered bridge. The closure will affect the section of road running between Camp Council Road and Route 113, known locally as Kimberton Road.

The work is scheduled for Monday, November 17, and Tuesday, November 18, with the road closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Maintenance crews will focus on repairing the headache bar, a critical safety feature designed to shield the covered bridge from damage by oversized vehicles.

Kennett Square Prepares for Largest Holiday Light Parade Yet

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Kennett Square's annual Holiday Light Parade returns November 22 at 6 p.m. with more than 100 illuminated floats and performances by the Philadelphia Woodland String Band and local groups. Organized by Kennett Collaborative and sponsored by Kennett Square Family Dentistry, the event drew 13,000 people last year and kicks off a season of holiday activities in the borough.
