Firefighters Contain Tractor-Trailer Fire Near Route 100 on Pennsylvania Turnpike

UPPER UWCHLAN TWP — Firefighters spent about an hour Friday afternoon battling a tractor-trailer fire on the eastbound Pennsylvania Turnpike in Upper Uwchlan Township, Chester County. The blaze was reported around 2:09 p.m. near milepost 310.5, between the Park Road overpass and the Route 100 interchange, according to Irisheyez Chesco. The initial report indicated the truck's rear brakes were on fire, but the flames grew quickly, and heavy fire was visible by the time fire units were en route. Turnpike officials informed responders that the trailer was loaded with electronics, and motorists were asked to use caution in the area while crews worked. The fire was declared under control at 3:08 p.m. Video available from Irisheyez Chesco
