Pennsylvania Trooper Shot and Killed During Traffic Stop in Chester County

WEST CALN TWP — Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Timothy O'Connor was shot and killed Sunday evening during a traffic stop in West Caln Township, Chester County, in what officials described as a sudden and unprovoked attack. O'Connor had responded to a call about an erratic driver near Honey Brook and pulled the vehicle over along Route 10 near Michael Road around 8:24 p.m. After radioing in the stop, he approached the driver's side window and was shot by the 32-year-old Chester County man behind the wheel. The suspect then stepped out of the car and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound nearby.

Fellow troopers arrived at the scene to find O'Connor critically wounded; he did not survive. Governor Josh Shapiro announced the death shortly after midnight and ordered Pennsylvania flags lowered to half-staff in O'Connor's memory. The corporal is survived by his wife and young daughter. Acting Commissioner George L. Bivens provided details of the timeline to the public, and Route 10 between Hill Road and Lammey Road remained closed early Monday morning as the investigation continued.

Elizabeth Herremans Moves Birds Nesting to VRA Realty, Citing Investment Focus

WEST CHESTER, PA — Birds Nesting, a real estate firm specializing in helping professional athletes relocate to the Philadelphia area, has changed brokerages — moving from luxury firm Serhant Pennsylvania to VRA Realty, based in West Chester. The company was founded by Elizabeth Herremans, wife of former Eagles offensive lineman Todd Herremans, with the goal of making the transition into a new city as seamless as possible for athletes arriving through trades or signings.

Beyond finding homes, Birds Nesting offers clients access to a network of vetted local contacts covering everything from healthcare providers to everyday personal services. Herremans originally built the firm around Eagles players before expanding to athletes in other professional leagues while at Serhant.

The move to VRA was driven in part by the brokerage's expertise in real estate investment, an area of growing appeal among professional athletes. Since making the switch, Herremans has widened her focus beyond sports, now also serving corporate executives and medical professionals new to the Philadelphia region — suggesting the firm's model of guided, high-touch relocation support resonates well beyond the locker room.
