Conditional Use Hearing for Brandywine Avenue Property Postponed

DOWNINGTOWN, PA β Downingtown Borough has postponed a conditional use hearing that was scheduled to take place during its January 21, 2026 council meeting.
The hearing concerned a conditional use application for property at 104 Brandywine Avenue submitted by Riverbank LLC. The proceeding was originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on January 21, but will not move forward on that date following action by the applicant.
Riverbank LLC submitted a written request to extend the timeline for the hearing, which borough officials approved. As a result, the conditional use proceeding has been removed from the January 21 council meeting agenda.

Chester County Officials Urge Drivers to Stay Home During Winter Storms

The Chester County Highway Safety Project issued a public service announcement reminding drivers to stay off roadways unless travel is absolutely necessary when winter weather is forecasted. Officials pointed to the numerous accidents that occurred across the area during the latest storm system as evidence of the hazardous conditions winter weather creates.
The advisory placed special emphasis on inexperienced drivers, particularly teenagers who have recently obtained their licenses. Officials urged parents to take proactive steps by spending time with their teen drivers in controlled, safe environments where they can practice handling vehicles in winter conditions. The practice sessions would allow new drivers to experience what it feels like to navigate slushy roads before facing those conditions during actual commutes or trips.
