Pints, Cornhole and a Mission: Safe Harbor's June Fundraiser Returns

MALVERN, PA — Safe Harbor of Chester County is hosting Pints With a Purpose, a community fundraiser and cornhole tournament, on Wednesday, June 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Locust Lane Brewery in Malvern. The event is free to attend, with optional entry into the tournament for those who want to compete.
Proceeds benefit Safe Harbor's work with people experiencing homelessness, including emergency shelter, meals, case management, life skills training and housing support. The organization assists about 150 individuals annually on their path from crisis to stable, independent living. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and community partners, and registration details can be found online.

Sections of Bell Tavern Park to Close for Maintenance

EAST CALN TWP — East Caln Township has announced that sections of Bell Tavern Park will be temporarily closed from Monday, May 11, through Wednesday, May 13, weather permitting, while crews perform maintenance on the playground flooring. The swing set area is the most likely location to be roped off during the project, according to township officials. Visitors should expect limited access to those sections, while the remainder of the park is anticipated to stay open as usual.
Chester County Expands Self-Service Kiosks to Streamline Court Access

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County has completed Phase 2 of a court modernization project carried out with Advanced Robot Solutions, expanding its self-service kiosk network to 15 machines across eight government and court facilities. Locations include six Magisterial District Judge courts, the Chester County Justice Center and the Government Services Center.
The kiosks provide wayfinding, court forms, hearing look-ups, payment links, FAQs and connections to 211 community resources, all available in English and Spanish. Three of the new kiosks are dedicated to self-represented litigants and are installed in the Justice Center's law library, offering forms and procedural guidance without staff involvement.
Since launching in March 2025, the system has logged more than 3,200 user sessions and 11,000 interactions. County officials, including court administrator Patricia Norwood-Foden, have framed the program as a scalable model for other counties looking to improve public access to court services.
Old Caln Historical Society to Host Garden Tour and Tea Party

CALN TWP — The Old Caln Historical Society will hold a Founding Fathers–themed historic house and garden tour, complete with a tea party, featuring four properties in Caln Township. The lineup includes a 19th-century house with a pond and mature native garden, a log cabin and stucco home nicknamed "Mini Williamsburg," a colonial estate with sprawling grounds, and a rustic farmhouse surrounded by old trees. Interior tours will be offered at two of the homes.
Visitors will enjoy sweet and savory bites alongside tea, take photos with vintage cars, and meet Master Gardeners who will share insights into the native plant species cultivated by the nation's founders. Free seeds may be offered to attendees. Tickets cost $25, and proceeds help fund the society's efforts to preserve local landmarks and share Caln Township's history.
