UWCHLAN TWP — The Rhondda Community in Uwchlan Township has established a pollinator garden and native meadow as part of a sustainable landscaping initiative. The low-maintenance habitat features native plants that support bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects while reducing water use and upkeep costs. The project has become a community focal point and is attracting interest from other homeowners associations seeking environmentally responsible alternatives to traditional lawns. The meadow demonstrates how suburban developments can create valuable pollinator habitat while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
PennDOT to Repair Eight State Highways in Chester County Next Week
DOWNINGTOWN, PA — PennDOT maintenance crews will begin repairing deteriorated pavement next week on eight state highways in Chester County as part of a broader initiative covering 39 roads across five southeastern Pennsylvania counties.
Heres’s list of roads they'll be working on in Chester County:
• U.S. 1 (Kennett-Oxford Bypass), New Garden Township
• U.S. 30 (Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass), Valley, Caln, East Caln, West Whiteland townships
• U.S. 202, West Whiteland, East Goshen, East Whiteland, Tredyffrin townships
• Route 23 (Ridge Road), East Coventry and East Vincent townships
• Route 41 (Gap-Newport Pike), London Grove Township
• Route 100 (Pottstown Pike Spur), West Goshen and West Whiteland townships
• Route 724 (Schuylkill Road), North Coventry and East Coventry townships
• Old Baltimore Pike, Lower Oxford Township
Turnpike Shutdown Set for Early Saturday as Crews Prepare to Demolish Bridge
DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Pennsylvania Turnpike will close between the Morgantown and Downingtown interchanges from midnight to 5 a.m. on Feb. 1 for bridge demolition work. Crews will remove the Adams Road bridge at milepost 304 as part of a larger reconstruction project covering six miles of highway currently in the design phase. Detours of approximately 22 miles will route drivers along Routes 100, 23, and 10. State police and turnpike staff will assist motorists, and the schedule may change due to weather conditions.
Vanguard Brings 250 Jobs Back In-House, Reversing Infosys Outsourcing Deal
MALVERN, PA — Vanguard Group is bringing nearly 250 IT and administrative jobs back in-house from outsourcing partner Infosys, reversing part of a 2020 deal that transferred over 1,300 positions to the India-based firm. The move reflects Vanguard's renewed focus on client experience and direct operational control. The jobs were previously relocated to an Infosys facility in Malvern, where employees maintained similar compensation during a transition period. The reversal represents a setback for Infosys's U.S. expansion efforts and reinforces Vanguard's presence as a major Chester County employer.
