Noise, Size and Property Values: East Whiteland Residents Push Back on Data Center Changes
EAST WHITELAND TWP — East Whiteland Township's planning commission held a standing-room meeting Monday to review proposed amendments to an approved data center project on Bacton Hill Road. Residents raised concerns about property values, noise and the building's expanded footprint — which grew from just over one million to more than 1.6 million square feet due to a cooling system redesign. No decision was made; the matter was referred to the board of supervisors, with the next meeting set for March 25.
Chester County Controller Receives Highest Honor in Government Accounting

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County's finance office has earned the field's top distinction in public sector accounting. Controller Nick Cherubino and his team were awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, recognizing the quality and transparency of the county's 2024 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
The GFOA certificate is considered the gold standard in governmental financial reporting, awarded to municipalities and counties that demonstrate exceptional adherence to accounting best practices, clarity of disclosure and overall financial stewardship. Earning the designation reflects not just technical accuracy, but a broader commitment to keeping the public informed about how taxpayer dollars are managed.
Downingtown Parks & Rec Sets the Stage for a Busy Summer at Kerr Park

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Downingtown Parks & Recreation has announced its 2026 community event schedule at Kerr Park, featuring an art walk, three summer concerts, a picnic, and a fall arts festival. The Growing Roots Farmers Market also continues every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
West Bradford Township Announces Outdoor Movie Series at Broad Run Park This Summer

WEST BRADFORD TWP — West Bradford Township is bringing movie nights back to Broad Run Park this summer, with a six-film outdoor screening series that runs from early June through early August. All shows are scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m., giving families time to settle in as the sun goes down.
The season opens June 4 with The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, a likely crowd-pleaser for younger audiences. The following week, June 11, brings Karate Kid Legends, before the series takes a brief pause and returns June 25 with Wicked for Good. July picks up with GOAT on the 9th and Zootopia 2 on the 23rd. The series closes out August 6 with Down and Derby.
