Gage Strength Training Attempts Push-Up World Record for Veterans’ Charity

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — A Guinness World Record attempt for the longest chain push-up will be held on Nov. 15 at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown. Organizers hope more than 150 people will participate to break the current record of 138. The event will raise funds for Team Foster, a Pennsylvania nonprofit that provides service dogs to disabled veterans. Gage Strength Training is coordinating the challenge, which will be filmed and verified according to official Guinness standards.

County Posts FAQs on Poll Book Error That Led to over 12,000 Provisional Ballots

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County released a detailed FAQ about the poll book error that caused more than 12,100 voters to cast provisional ballots, primarily affecting third-party registrants. Officials began reviewing provisional ballots Friday and will work daily until completion. The process is open to public observation at county offices in West Chester. A comprehensive investigation will begin after election certification. Voters can track their provisional ballots online through the state's verification system.

Commissioner Eric Roe Calls for Third-Party Investigation Into Ballots Mishap

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County Commissioner Eric Roe is calling for an independent investigation into the poll book error that caused over 12,000 provisional ballots during last week's election. In a detailed social media post, Roe said the investigation should wait until all votes are counted and should be conducted by a third party, not just county or state officials. He proposed public release of findings and evening town hall meetings for residents to ask questions.

Mushroom Cap Half Marathon to Close Kennett Square Streets Saturday Morning

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The Mushroom Cap Half Marathon will close numerous streets in and around Kennett Square on Nov. 8 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Some road closures begin at 5 a.m., with most taking effect at 7:30 a.m. This year's route includes several new closures, including West Cedar Street, Center Street, Magnolia Street, North Garfield Street, and Davenport Road. No parking will be enforced on affected streets. Drivers should expect delays and plan alternative routes. More info and maps available online
