Pedestrian Fatality on South High Street Claims Life of WCU Student

WEST CHESTER, PA — A student at West Chester University died Sunday after being struck by a vehicle late Saturday night near the campus in West Chester, Pennsylvania, according to local police and university officials.

The victim, Garrett Nicholas, a junior from Orefield, Pennsylvania, was hit in the 300 block of South High Street at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday. He was transported by Good Fellowship Ambulance to Paoli Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that day.

The university's Vice President for Student Affairs notified the campus community of the student's death in a message sent Sunday, describing the loss as a painful moment for the institution. University leadership expressed condolences to Nicholas's family, friends, and the broader campus community.

CCIU Claims Two Top Honors at Pennsylvania Business Officials Conference

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Two Chester County Intermediate Unit administrators took home top honors at Pennsylvania's premier school business conference in March. PennDOT Schedules Overnight Lane Closures on 30 Bypass Through Thursday

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — PennDOT has scheduled overnight lane closures on eastbound U.S. 30 near Coatesville from April 12 through April 16, between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly. The closures are tied to a $9.3 million resurfacing project along the Coatesville Downingtown Bypass. Drivers in the area should plan for delays and consider alternate routes.

West Whiteland Police Release Image of Suspect in Exton Retail Theft, Seek Public Tips

EXTON, PA — West Whiteland Township police are seeking help identifying a person of interest in a February shoplifting incident in Exton.
