PECO Project Aims to Future-Proof Caln Township's Electric Grid

CALN TWP — PECO is moving forward with a significant upgrade to the electrical distribution system in Caln Township, targeting roads including Bondsville Road, Hadfield Road, North Bailey Road, East Fisherville Road, Fisherville Road, Zynn Road, Lenora Lane, and Newline Drive. The ongoing project is designed to make the local grid more resistant to storm damage, reduce outage frequency, and lay the groundwork for the broader adoption of cleaner energy sources — goals that have become central to utility planning across the region.

The work is expected to be completed by December 2026, though the timeline may extend into the early months of 2027. PECO has committed to notifying residents ahead of any planned service interruptions tied to the project. To ensure they receive those alerts promptly, customers are urged to confirm their contact details are up to date at peco.com/myaccount. More information about the project can be found on the Caln Township website.

Caln Township's Annual Cleanup Returns March 28–29, With Patriotic Spirit

CALN TWP — Caln Township's Parks and Recreation Board has announced the return of its annual Community Clean Up Weekend, scheduled for March 28 and 29, 2026. The event, which brings together residents each spring to spruce up the township's public spaces, is once again being sponsored by Midway Grill — a local staple that has helped support the cleanup in previous years.

All volunteers, whether signing up as individuals or as part of an organized group, will receive cleanup supplies and a gift certificate to Midway Grill. This year, organizers are leaning into a broader national theme: with the United States celebrating its 250th anniversary of independence in 2026, they're hoping the milestone will inspire record turnout and make this year's cleanup the most impactful to date. Residents interested in participating are encouraged to sign up online.
