PECO Launching $12 Million Grid Upgrade Across Chester County Townships

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — This month, PECO will start a $12 million investment to enhance the electrical distribution system in West Whiteland, East Caln, Downingtown, and Uwchlan Townships. The project calls for replacing wires, poles, and transformers while installing automated devices designed to reduce outage times. The upgrades will allow the utility to retire the aging Uwchlan Substation and better support renewable energy use in the region. Crews will work along numerous streets, with some temporary power interruptions expected, though PECO says customers will be notified in advance.

Chester County Planning Commission Opens Second Round of 2025 Vision Partnership Planning Grants

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Planning Commission has opened the second round of applications for its 2025 Vision Partnership Program Cash Grant, a funding opportunity for municipalities seeking to enhance local planning efforts. The program supports projects such as comprehensive plans, ordinance updates, and multi-municipal initiatives that advance the county’s long-term development and conservation goals outlined in Landscapes3. Applications are due by September 26, with awards to be announced in November.
