Body Recovered After Overnight Search at Marsh Creek State Park

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Emergency crews responded to Marsh Creek State Park in Chester County just before 10 p.m. Saturday after a water rescue call involving three people on or near a paddleboard. Two of the individuals were rescued from the water without further incident, but the third person could not be located at the scene. Officials confirmed shortly before 11 p.m. that the search for the missing individual was ongoing, and rescue teams worked through the night to locate the person in the water. On Sunday morning, authorities announced that the search had ended after a body was recovered. The identity of the victim has not been released, and officials have not disclosed additional information about what led to the incident. The park resumed normal operations at 8 a.m. Sunday.

Roadway Buckles on Route 100 Spur Northbound, Prompting Lane Closure

WEST CHESTER, PA — A section of Route 100 Spur Northbound in West Whiteland Township is experiencing lane closures after officials discovered a buckled section of pavement and a large hole in the road near Mile Marker 1.9, just beneath the Pottstown Pike bridge. Local police alerted the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and crews are currently on their way to inspect and repair the damage. In the meantime, drivers are urged to proceed with caution, merge into the open lane well in advance of the closure, and expect possible delays, particularly during busier travel times. No estimate has been provided for when full lane access will be restored.

West Pikeland Township Announces Temporary Closure of Pine Creek Park for Repairs

WEST PIKELAND TWP — Pine Creek Park will be temporarily closed on Thursday, July 9, and Friday, July 10, to allow crews to repave the park's driveway and carry out additional maintenance work. The closure is contingent on weather conditions, and officials have indicated the park will reopen as soon as the repaving and related work are finished, though no specific reopening date has been confirmed. Residents seeking more information or with questions about the project are encouraged to contact the township office at 610-590-5300.

Fairview Road to Close for Base Repair Work Next Week

WALLACE TWP — has announced that Fairview Road in Wallace and East Nantmeal townships will be closed for base repair work from Monday, June 29, through Thursday, July 2, weather permitting. The closure will be in effect daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. along the stretch of road between Little Conestoga Road and Route 401 (Conestoga Road). During this time, drivers will be detoured via Little Conestoga Road, Route 345 (Bulltown Road), and Route 401. PennDOT noted that local access will be preserved throughout the project, though motorists should anticipate delays both within the work zone and along the detour. The agency encouraged travelers to use 511PA, a free traffic information service offering road condition updates, and weather forecasts, to plan their routes accordingly.
