Exton Square Mall Redevelopment Denied by Township, Prompting Legal Challenge

EXTON, PA — A developer plans to sue West Whiteland Township after supervisors rejected a proposal to transform Exton Square Mall into a residential and retail community with 718 homes. Despite receiving approval from the township's planning commission in August, the board voted 2-0 against the project, citing traffic concerns and sewer capacity issues. Abrams Realty & Development, which bought the 75-acre property for $34.25 million, says the plan complies with zoning laws and intends to challenge the decision in court.
Ballistics Match Connects Suspect's Firearm to Lincoln University Shooting

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA — Investigators have linked a firearm found on a suspect to evidence from Saturday's mass shooting at Lincoln University that killed one person and wounded six others during homecoming celebrations. Chester County authorities announced Tuesday that ballistics testing connected a Glock seized from Zecqueous Morgan-Thompson, 21, to a cartridge casing at the scene. Morgan-Thompson's bail was increased to $1 million, though prosecutors say they are investigating multiple potential shooters. Officials are asking the public to share any video footage from the incident.
West Bradford Litter Lifters Organize Cleanup Along Northbrook Road

WEST BRADFORD TWP — Volunteers with the West Bradford Litter Lifters cleaned sections of Northbrook Road on October 25, removing trash from areas stretching from Strasburg Road to the West Branch of the Brandywine Creek. Eight volunteers participated in the effort, which was organized through the township. Officials are encouraging residents to suggest additional cleanup locations and inviting community members to join future volunteer events.
Caln Township Recognizes Local Heroes on National First Responders’ Day

CALN TWP — Caln Township recognized local first responders on National First Responders Day, expressing gratitude to the township police department and three fire companies that serve the community. Officials acknowledged the Caln Township Police Department, Caln Township Firefighters, Thorndale Fire Company and Minquas Fire Company No. 2 for their service.
Local Author Releases Debut Children's Book About Wisdom and Family Values

Chester County author Daniel Pishock has published his first children's book, a parable about four brothers competing to inherit their father's forest home. The hardcover book, illustrated by Zuza Wollny, follows three older sons who fail to complete their father's challenge using wealth and knowledge, while the youngest succeeds with a simpler approach. Pishock, who draws on his faith and family life, designed the story to convey moral lessons to young readers.
