Longwood Gardens Announces DJ Jazzy Jeff for Fall Fountain Performance

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Grammy-winning DJ Jazzy Jeff will make his debut at Longwood Gardens on Wednesday, September 9, performing a live 90-minute set synchronized with the venue's illuminated fountain display as part of its Summer Series. A rain date is set for September 10. The West Philadelphia native began DJing as a child and later achieved national fame alongside Will Smith as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, before building a decades-long solo career as a producer, label founder and touring artist. He has continued to release new music, including a recent chart-topping single, and maintains an active international touring and livestreaming schedule. Chester County Sets Lithium Battery Recycling Event for September 26

COATESVILLE, PA — Pennsylvania State Police have made arrests in connection with a series of dangerous incidents on the US-30 Bypass in Valley Township, where heavy debris including rocks and logs was thrown onto the highway on the evenings of August 19 and 21. A 14-year-old and an 11-year-old are accused of deliberately hurling the objects from the roadside onto moving traffic, damaging at least 17 vehicles and injuring two vehicle occupants, though the injuries were not life-threatening.

Both juveniles face several charges, including aggravated assault, propulsion of missiles into an occupied vehicle, propulsion of missiles into or onto a roadway, and recklessly endangering another person. Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward and are asking any drivers who experienced vehicle damage in the area during that time to contact Trooper Cole Zapf at the PSP Embreeville Station.

Downingtown Fall Fest Returns October 4 as Vendor Spots Go on Sale

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Downingtown's largest community event of the year, Fall Fest, will return on Sunday, October 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Downingtown Area Chamber of Commerce announced. The festival, held in the heart of the borough, typically draws thousands of residents and visitors for a day centered on local businesses, food and drink, and family-friendly activities. This year's vendor demand was especially strong, with organizers reporting that all vendor spaces and the waitlist are now full. Businesses still hoping to participate can do so through sponsorship, as every sponsorship level includes a vendor space at the event. The chamber is additionally seeking a single business to take on the role of exclusive Presenting Sponsor, which comes with naming rights and high-visibility placement throughout the festival. Organizers are encouraging interested businesses to act quickly given the event's growing popularity. Additional information about Fall Fest and available sponsorship tiers can be found at downingtownfallfest.com, with details on the Presenting Sponsor package at downingtownfallfest.com/presenting-sponsorship-dff2026.

From Cop to Camera: How John Thompson of JWTIV Photo Is Redefining Boudoir Photography in Chester County

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Host Jenny Leigh talks with boudoir photographer John Thompson, who traded a nearly decade-long law enforcement career in Georgia for a fresh start in Chester County after meeting his wife, Victoria. Thompson shares how he built JWTIV Photo into an award-winning boudoir business focused on everyday women — moms, brides, and first responders — rather than models, and how he and Victoria create a comfortable, full-day client experience from consultation to reveal.

He speaks openly about overcoming stereotypes as a male photographer, the professional credentials and training behind his work, and the emotional impact of helping clients see themselves in a new light — an experience that's also been part of his own healing from his time in law enforcement. The episode wraps with a look at what sets his business apart and his love for life in Chester County as a transplant who's made it home.
