Mark Spitznagel, who made $1B in a single day during the 2015 flash crash, warned markets are mimicking 1929. Seems extreme but we did just see the worst quarter for the S&P since 2022.
So itβs not so surprising that Vanguard and Goldman Sachs forecasted 5% and 3% annual S&P returns respectively for 2024-2034.
Almost no one knows this, but postwar and contemporary art appreciated 10.2% annually with near-zero correlation to equities from 1995β2025 overall.*

Downingtown Fences Off Portion of Kerr Park to Protect Bald Eagle Nest

DOWNINGTOWN, PA β he Borough of Downingtown has imposed temporary restrictions in Kerr Park after a bald eagle nest containing three eaglets was identified on the property. In partnership with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, officials have created a protective buffer zone, erected temporary fencing, posted no-trespassing signs and closed the portions of the disc golf course that fall within the restricted area. Monitoring and enforcement in the park have also been increased.
The precautions are meant to prevent disturbances β particularly from crowds, noise and drones β that could cause the eagles to abandon the nest, which would violate federal protections. Park visitors are being asked to stay out of restricted zones, keep their distance from the nest, avoid flying drones nearby and follow posted directions. Borough officials acknowledged the closures may affect park use but characterized the steps as necessary to protect the wildlife and avoid significant legal penalties.
Bell Unveiling to Mark Start of Chester County's America250 Celebrations

WEST CHESTER, PA β The Chester County Community Foundation, along with Chesco250 and Chester County Government, will host the "Dare to Declare: America250 Bell Unveiling" on Thursday, April 30, at 5 p.m. on the steps of the Historic Chester County Courthouse. The free public event launches a broader countywide effort to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence.
The centerpiece of the initiative invites residents to organize their own community readings of the Declaration of Independence at parks, picnics, historic sites, taverns or any local gathering space. Organizers note that the Declaration takes only about ten minutes to read aloud and have provided planning guides, checklists, marketing materials and a flyer template to help residents put together their own events. Hosts are encouraged to register their readings through the initiative's website to be included in countywide promotion.
Additional details are available at cccf250.org/daretodeclare.

Driver Shot on Turnpike After Suspects Allegedly Impersonated Police
TREDYFFRIN TWP β Three men have been charged in connection with a March 28 shooting on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, in which Pennsylvania State Police say the suspects posed as law enforcement in an attempt to rob a driver. According to investigators, Roberto Morel, 51, Terrell Adams, 38, and Tuften Green, 21, followed the victim's vehicle while flashing red and blue lights to compel the driver to pull over. When the motorist became suspicious, Green is accused of shooting him in the chest, with additional rounds fired as the driver fled the scene. A woman and a 3-year-old child were also inside the car at the time of the incident, and the driver was hospitalized.
Morel and Adams have been taken into custody, while Green remains at large and is the subject of an active arrest warrant. The three men face multiple charges, including attempted murder, conspiracy to commit criminal homicide and impersonating a public servant. Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police Embreeville Station at 610-486-6280.
