Case Against Bam Margera Postponed as Chester County Judge Recuses Himself

WEST CHESTER, PA — A recent Chester County lawsuit against reality television figure Brandon “Bam” Margera has reached an unexpected roadblock after the judge overseeing the proceedings recused himself just days before trial. Attorneys for Margera raised concerns about the judge’s impartiality, citing his prior involvement in local litigation against Margera’s “Castle Bam” property.

The plaintiff in the case contends that he was severely hurt in a motorcycle crash on the Pocopson Township property in 2019. According to court documents, the plaintiff had been drinking and attempting to replicate stunts commonly associated with Margera’s shows, claiming that Margera promoted the risky environment for personal gain. Margera’s defense argues that he was not present at the time of the incident and cannot be held liable for the plaintiff’s decisions.

Although the judge had already ruled on some aspects of the case, he ultimately stepped down to uphold public trust in the judiciary. A replacement judge will now be selected, and attorneys on both sides anticipate that the trial will be rescheduled in the near future.

Alleged Dealer Avoids Homicide Charge in Deadly Coatesville Exchange

COATESVILLE, PA — A Coatesville drug transaction in March took a fatal turn when an attempted robbery sparked an exchange of gunfire, leaving one man dead. According to investigators, a 24-year-old suspect arrived in the area with his brother and a friend to sell THC vape cartridges. After an initial sale, the group met the buyer again, only for another individual to approach the car and demand money at gunpoint.

When the dealer refused to comply, he was shot in the arm and chest. He then returned fire, striking and killing the gunman. Law enforcement officials determined that the act fell under justifiable self-defense, as the suspect was fired upon first. While prosecutors declined to pursue homicide charges, the survivor pleaded guilty to two felony counts related to drug distribution. His sentencing date remains pending.

PennDOT Launches Major Sinkhole Repairs on Route 29 and U.S. 202

MALVERN, PA — PennDOT is set to launch a long-term sinkhole remediation effort on Route 29 (Morehall Road) in East Whiteland Township and U.S. 202 (DeKalb Pike) in Upper Merion Township, with construction starting on January 13. The $22.4 million project includes drilling through the pavement in a grid pattern and injecting pressurized grout to reinforce ground stability beneath the roads. Additional improvements, such as drainage enhancements and repaving, are also part of the plan.

Motorists can expect weekday lane closures on both corridors, as well as a full 24-hour shutdown on each side of U.S. 202 at different stages of the work. During these closures, traffic will be rerouted through Saulin Boulevard and Henderson Road. On Route 29, the contractor intends to maintain a single lane in each direction with the help of temporary traffic signals. The plan comes in response to repeated sinkhole episodes that previously caused lane closures and emergency repairs.

Construction officials conducted a detailed geotechnical study using ground-penetrating radar, surface wave analysis, and test borings to develop the most effective stabilization strategy. The contract, funded entirely by federal dollars, is led by Heidelberg Materials of Flourtown. PennDOT recommends that drivers plan for delays, remain alert for changing traffic patterns, and monitor www.511PA.com for real-time traffic and weather conditions.
