Kohl’s Robbery Stopped by Off-Duty Officer; Second Heist Reported at Local Boscov’s
LIMERICK TWP — More information has been released about last Sunday’s armed robbery at a Kohls department store in Limerick. Also around the same time, a separate armed robbery took place at the Boscov’s in the Coventry Mall in North Coventry.
In Limerick, an off-duty officer reportedly noticed two individuals acting suspiciously in the Kohl’s parking lot. The officer followed them inside, where one suspect allegedly brandished a firearm near a cashier. The officer intervened and ordered the armed individual to disarm, prompting both suspects to flee on foot.
A stolen vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects was secured at the scene. Police from multiple nearby departments joined the search, ultimately apprehending both suspects. They face charges including attempted robbery and several firearm-related offenses and are currently being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
Shortly before the incident at Kohl’s, North Coventry Police received reports of an armed robbery at the Boscov’s in the Coventry Mall. Investigators believe the suspect fled with an undisclosed sum of money. Police are examining possible connections to other similar incidents in the region. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the North Coventry Police Department.
