Chester County Appoints Judge Wheatcraft to Lead Judiciary

WEST CHESTER, PA — Ann Marie Wheatcraft, a longtime judge and leader of Chester County’s treatment courts, has been unanimously elected as the county’s next president judge. Beginning her five-year term in 2025, Wheatcraft will take over from Judge John Hall, who guided the courts through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wheatcraft’s work has focused on rehabilitation through programs like Drug Court and Veterans Court, which offer non-violent offenders a chance to rebuild their lives under supervision. Her colleagues have commended her for her fairness, compassion, and administrative skills, calling her election well-deserved.

As president judge, Wheatcraft will oversee judicial assignments, court operations, and administrative matters, working closely with county officials to ensure accessible and efficient justice. Her career includes over two decades of legal experience, beginning as a prosecutor in Chester County’s District Attorney’s Office. Wheatcraft, who lives in West Grove, aims to continue the legacy of fairness and service upheld by her predecessors.
