West Chester Christmas Parade Returns This Friday

WEST CHESTER, PA — The bond between Caln Township, Pennsylvania, and Calne, England, dates back to 1982, reflecting a shared heritage that has been strengthened over decades through cultural exchanges and joint activities. This Thanksgiving, the Mayor of Calne, Jon Fisher, sent a message of goodwill to his counterparts across the Atlantic. He highlighted the unique friendship that continues to grow between the two towns, aligning with the themes of gratitude and community that define Thanksgiving. The message serves as a reminder of the enduring connection and mutual respect between these sister communities.

Celebrate the Season at the Coatesville Christmas Parade

COATESVILLE, PA — The Coatesville Christmas Parade, a long-standing tradition with roots in the 1950s, returns this Saturday, December 7, at 10 a.m. The event will take place along Lincoln Highway, starting at Strode Avenue and ending at 11th Avenue. Participants will line up at 9 a.m., and judging for various categories will occur before and during the parade.
Originally organized by the Coatesville chapter of the JAYCEES, the parade was discontinued in the late 1980s but was revived in 1994 by community members with the support of local organizations. Today, it is a nonprofit effort that relies on donations from businesses, philanthropic groups, and residents.
Each year, the parade features marching bands, festive floats, school groups, antique vehicles, emergency responders, and more. Thousands of spectators gather to experience the vibrant displays and welcome Santa Claus as he officially marks the start of the holiday season. The Coatesville Christmas Parade is a proud celebration of community spirit and holiday joy.
