Kennett Square to Celebrate Holidays with Dazzling Light Parade

KENNETT SQUARE, PA โ Kennett Square will once again come alive with the sights and sounds of the holiday season during the annual Holiday Light Parade on Saturday, November 30, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Organized by Kennett Collaborative, this yearโs parade promises an evening of festive fun under the theme "Experience the Magic of Kennett Square."
The updated parade route begins at South Broad and West Cypress Streets, continues north along the 100 block of South Broad Street, and travels west along State Street, ending at Mill Road. Spectators can enjoy floats and vehicles decked out with holiday lights, performances by dancers, a DJ playing holiday classics, and the ceremonial Christmas tree lighting. Santa and Mrs. Claus will add a touch of magic to the event.
Complimentary parking is available at the Borough parking garage on East Linden Street from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, courtesy of Longwood Gardens and Kennett Collaborative. Visit the official event page for more details.

CHADDS FORD, PA โ In a unanimous vote, the Unionville-Chadds Ford School Board has authorized the purchase of five electric school buses, a move heralded as both environmentally responsible and financially feasible thanks to substantial grant funding. The $1.9 million cost of the buses will be offset by three grants, bringing the districtโs out-of-pocket expenses to $397,000. Board members cited the availability of these funds as a critical factor in their decision, which follows months of discussion on the viability of electric vehicles for the district.
Community Survey Launched for Chester County Emergency Planning
WEST CHESTER, PA โ Chester County is taking proactive steps to improve its emergency preparedness by updating its Mitigation Plan, a strategic document that outlines how the community can reduce risks and respond effectively to various hazards. To make the plan as comprehensive as possible, the Chester County Department of Emergency Services is seeking feedback from residents through a brief 10-question survey.
The department is calling on homeowners, renters, and other community members to share their perspectives on emergency planning. The input gathered will be used to tailor the countyโs strategies to meet the unique needs of its residents, ensuring a more robust and inclusive preparedness framework. The survey is available online and open to all county residents. By participating, individuals can contribute to a safer, more resilient Chester County.
