TCHS Students Explore Education and Career Opportunities At College Fair

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Chester County Technical College High School (TCHS) hosted its annual college fairs across the Brandywine, Pennock’s Bridge, and Pickering campuses, offering students a chance to engage with nearly 70 postsecondary institutions. From universities and community colleges to trade schools and military programs, the fairs provided a wide array of options for students planning their next steps.
Representatives answered questions about academic offerings, admissions, and financial aid, helping students gain a better understanding of higher education and career paths. Guided by school counselors, students were equipped to make the most of these interactions.
Annual Video Contest Inspires PA Students to Explore Manufacturing

MALVERN, PA — The What’s So Cool About Manufacturing video contest is back, providing seventh and eighth graders across Pennsylvania with an opportunity to explore careers in manufacturing. Organized by the Manufacturers Resource Center, the contest challenges students to create videos that highlight local manufacturers, showcasing their technology, career paths, and workplace environments.
The contest includes localized competitions in 12 Pennsylvania regions, with teams collaborating with manufacturers to produce their entries. Videos will be featured on the contest’s website, where the public can vote for a Viewer’s Choice Award. Winners from regional events will be announced in April, and top entries will advance to a statewide competition in May.
This year, Chester and Delaware counties will host their awards ceremony at Penn State Great Valley, while the Philadelphia region will conclude its competition at Normandy Farms Conference Center. The initiative continues to inspire students to consider STEM education and explore career opportunities in an industry they may not have previously imagined.
With over 60% of Pennsylvania public schools participating since 2013, the program has had a far-reaching impact, fostering connections between students, schools, and manufacturers and encouraging a deeper understanding of the industry’s potential. More info at their website
