COATESVILLE, PA - The $70 million Coatesville Train Station project is set for completion by late 2025, promising modernized transportation options, ADA accessibility, and economic revitalization for the city. Construction has already seen significant progress, including platform installations and infrastructure improvements like a 2.5-mile freight bypass track for Norfolk Southern traffic. Brandywine Valley Active Aging Secures Funding for Kitchen Renovation
COATESVILLE, PA — Brandywine Valley Active Aging (BVAA) is modernizing its Coatesville Campus kitchen, thanks to a $100,000 state grant aimed at expanding its capacity to serve affordable, nutritious meals to seniors. The upgrades, funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, are expected to increase efficiency by 85 percent, allowing BVAA to better meet a growing demand for its services.
The organization, which serves nearly 300 low-cost lunches each day, has experienced a 235 percent rise in participation in its meal program since the pandemic. Formed in 2021 through the merger of the Coatesville and Downingtown Senior Centers, BVAA supports older adults with meals, social activities, fitness classes, and educational opportunities, enriching their health and wellness.
