Montgomery County IT Thwarts Major Foreign Cyber Threats During Election

MONTCO, PA - During the 2024 general election, Montgomery County’s IT department thwarted over one million foreign cyberattacks, including significant attempts from Russia and Bulgaria, according to Election Board Chairman Neil Makhija. The county’s defensive measures ensured that election infrastructure remained secure, with officials confident in the integrity of the results. The announcement follows heightened concerns about election interference, particularly after a fabricated video, attributed to Russian operatives, circulated in neighboring Bucks County.

Kamala Harris Concedes Election, Pledging Peaceful Transition of Power

GAGE SKIDMORE / FLICKR

WASHINGTON DC - Vice President Kamala Harris addressed a crowd of supporters at Howard University on Wednesday, conceding the presidential race to President-elect Donald Trump after a tumultuous campaign season. Despite larger crowds than her predecessor Joe Biden, and record-breaking fundraising, her focus on unity, abortion rights, and progressive economics couldn’t bridge the widening gaps in the electorate, as Trump’s appeal resonated across diverse voter groups. Harris emphasized the need to accept the election outcome peacefully, underscoring her commitment to democracy. Her campaign’s end marked a reflective moment, as Harris urged Americans to continue pursuing unity and a brighter future.
