Harris and Cheney Push for Bipartisan Cooperation at Malvern Campaign Appearance

VP Kamala Harris

Liz Cheney

MALVERN, PA — In a campaign event at People’s Light theater in Malvern, Vice President Kamala Harris was joined by former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney to address an audience of about 375 people. The informal conversation centered around the importance of preserving democracy and the future direction of the country. Cheney is the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who has also endorsed Harris, who said she was proud to have both Cheney’s endorsements.

Harris highlighted the critical choices facing voters in the upcoming election, positioning herself as a unifying figure capable of leading all Americans, regardless of political affiliation. Cheney supported Harris, voicing concerns about former President Donald Trump’s influence on the country and warning that his leadership could further undermine democratic principles.

West Goshen Wawa Shooting Charges Filed, Escalation Over Marijuana Dispute

WEST CHESTER, PA — More information has been released regarding the Wawa shooting in West Chester. Authorities have charged Frank Johnson, 21, of Coatesville, and Zahir Scott, 18, of Wilmington, Delaware, in connection with the shooting outside a Wawa in West Goshen Township. The incident, which took place on Saturday afternoon, began as a dispute over a trash bag containing marijuana in the parking lot of the convenience store on East Market Street.

Surveillance footage revealed that the altercation quickly escalated into gunfire, with both men shooting at each other before fleeing the scene. Police apprehended Johnson during a traffic stop, where a handgun was found in the vehicle. Scott, who had been shot in the foot, was found at a nearby hospital. A second weapon, believed to be discarded by Scott, was later recovered by police.

Both men are facing charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses. Scott also faces additional robbery charges. They are being held on $1 million cash bail as the investigation continues.
