Bold Thefts at Gabe’s Discount Stores Spark Police Search in Chester County

EXTON, PA — Authorities across Chester County are on the lookout for suspects linked to multiple thefts at Gabe’s discount stores. The first incident occurred on August 5, when two women reportedly left a Gabe’s store in North Coventry with carts full of merchandise, departing in a black Nissan Maxima. A similar theft took place the following day at Gabe’s in Exton, involving the same suspects and vehicle. Police have circulated photos of the individuals and are appealing to the public for help in identifying them. The thefts have drawn attention due to their bold nature, leaving local shoppers concerned and eager for a resolution.

Chester County Ambulance Company Settles for $800K in Fatal Misinterpretation Case

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Good Fellowship Ambulance Company has settled a lawsuit for $800,000 following the death of Steven M. Zebley in January 2020. The case, approved by a Chester County judge, centered on claims that a first responder misinterpreted an electrocardiogram, leading to a series of events that culminated in Zebley's death. Zebley, who had requested not to be taken to the hospital after the initial assessment, later went into cardiac arrest and died the next day. The settlement, which will benefit Zebley’s mother, Ruth Belcher, avoids the uncertainties of a trial, though the ambulance company maintains it acted appropriately.

Charges Dropped in Chester County Child Molestation Case

WEST CHESTER, PA — All charges have been dismissed against a Chester County man accused of sexually molesting his 6-year-old daughter. The decision by a Common Pleas Court judge was influenced by testimony indicating that the contact might have been inadvertent, occurring during tickling games. The case, which initially led to multiple serious charges, including aggravated indecent assault, was dropped after the court determined that the evidence did not substantiate the allegations. The man, who has been free on bail since March, was initially charged after the girl disclosed the incidents to school staff. The dismissal brings an end to the legal proceedings against the defendant, whose identity remains undisclosed to protect the child.
