Caln Summer Series Celebration Returns Tonight with Concert, Food Trucks, and More

THORNDALE, PA — Caln Township is preparing for a lively evening on Monday, August 12, as it hosts the rescheduled National Night Out and Summer Series celebration at Caln Municipal Park. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., the event will feature a concert by Chico's Vibe, a selection of food trucks, a dunk tank, and other engaging activities such as an obstacle course and face painting.

The evening will also include demonstrations by local law enforcement, providing an opportunity for residents to connect with those who serve the community. The festivities will conclude with a fireworks display, ensuring a memorable night for all attendees.

Coatesville Introduces Cutting-Edge Outdoor Fitness Facility

COATESVILLE, PA — On August 16, Coatesville will unveil a new outdoor Fitness Court at Victor Abdala Sr. Memorial Park, marking a significant step in the city's efforts to promote health and wellness. This Fitness Court is part of the National Fitness Campaign’s initiative to establish accessible exercise spaces across the country, targeting improved public health outcomes. The facility, suitable for individuals aged 14 and up, features seven exercise stations that provide a complete bodyweight workout, adaptable to various fitness levels. A companion app offers digital coaching to enhance the workout experience.

The launch event invites the community to explore the new fitness amenity and learn about additional wellness programming at Abdala Park. Following this, Coatesville will host its first-ever Fitness Festival on August 24, offering a day of health-focused activities.

Rescheduled Greaseband Concert to Take Place on Tuesday

EAST BRANDYWINE TWP — Due to inclement weather, Downingtown’s summer concert featuring The Fabulous Greaseband has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 13, at 6:30 p.m. in Kerr Park. The band, renowned for its spirited performances of rock ‘n’ roll classics from the 1950s through the 1990s, has been a beloved fixture in the music scene for the past 50 years.

East Brandywine Park to Host Trolls Band Together Movie Night

EAST BRANDYWINE TWP — East Brandywine Community Park is set to host an outdoor movie night on Friday, August 16, beginning at 8:30 p.m. The featured film, Trolls Band Together, will transport viewers on a lively adventure as the characters Branch and Poppy embark on a mission to rescue Branch’s kidnapped brother from a pair of pop star villains.

Annual Motorcycle Ride to Honor Robbie and Ryan Miller in Downingtown

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Downingtown community is preparing for the annual Robbie and Ryan Miller Motorcycle Run, set for Sunday, August 18th*. The ride will begin at the East Brandywine Fire Company on Bondsville Road and conclude with a dine-and-donate event at PJ Whelihan’s in Downingtown from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The event honors the lives of Robbie and Ryan Miller, with proceeds going towards a scholarship awarded to a graduating senior at Downingtown High School. The motorcycle run and subsequent fundraiser have become a cherished tradition in the community, reflecting the enduring impact of the Miller brothers’ legacy.

Participants in the ride, as well as those attending the fundraiser, will contribute to a cause that supports the educational aspirations of local students, ensuring that the memory of Robbie and Ryan Miller continues to inspire future generations.
