The incident occurred early Sunday morning when the badge was dislodged from the officer’s uniform and fell to the ground. Despite an active search, the badge remains missing. The West Chester Police Department has asked anyone who may have picked it up to return it to the station, cautioning that possession of the badge could result in criminal charges if not returned promptly.
Six Charged in Catalytic Converter Theft Ring Spanning Southeastern Pennsylvania
Authorities in Southeastern Pennsylvania have charged six people in connection with a major catalytic converter fencing operation that capitalized on the rising prices of precious metals during the COVID-19 pandemic. The defendants, who operated two salvage yards in Philadelphia, allegedly purchased over 1,000 stolen catalytic converters from organized theft crews. These thefts, targeting vehicles in high-traffic areas, caused significant financial damage to car owners. Investigators discovered that the defendants sold the stolen converters for substantial profits. The investigation, which involved multiple agencies, led to the arrest of the suspects, who now face numerous charges, including theft, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy.
