KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Concerns over data security on the Pennsylvania Turnpike have intensified after tens of thousands of residents received scam text messages about unpaid tolls. This incident, the second of its kind this year, has led drivers to question how their personal information is protected. The Turnpike Commission, which has operated cashless for four years using E-ZPass and license plate photos, assures that no private data has been compromised. As the Turnpike moves towards open road tolling by 2027, with all toll booths replaced by overhead gantries, the Commission emphasizes the secure storage of customer information within their service center.

Shapiro Signs Laws on Squatters’ Rights, Ready-to-Drink Cocktails, and School Solar Programs

HARRISBURG, PA — Governor Josh Shapiro has enacted 30 new bills, contributing to a total of 102 new laws in 2024. Significant recent legislation includes measures to assist property owners in dealing with squatters, expand ready-to-drink cocktail sales, resolve school district residency disputes, ensure the automatic return of unclaimed property, and establish the Solar for Schools Grant Program. Senate Bill 1236 clarifies procedures for property possession and notice requirements, while Senate Bill 688 introduces permits for ready-to-drink cocktails and revises liquor regulations. House Bill 663 aims to streamline processes related to school residency disputes, and Senate Bill 24 modifies the return of unclaimed property to rightful owners. Upper Uwchlan Township Hosts Third Concert of Summer Series Feat. The Holts

UPPER UWCHLAN TWP — Upper Uwchlan Township invites residents and visitors to the third concert of its Live Music Summer Series, scheduled for Sunday, August 11, at Upland Farm Park. The event, running from 4:30 to 7 PM, will feature a performance by The Holts at 5 PM. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for an evening of entertainment and community. Food and beverages from Epicurean Garage, along with shave ice from Lani Ice, will be available for purchase starting at 4:30 PM. Attendees are reminded that outside alcohol is not permitted, parking is limited, and no dogs are allowed at the concert. Walking or carpooling is recommended to ease parking constraints.
