Firefighters Test Their Limits at Northeast Regional Classic in Exton

EXTON, PA — Firefighters converged in Exton, PA, for the first day of the 2024 Northeast Regional Classic of the Firefighter Challenge Championship Series. The event, known for its demanding two-minute obstacle course, featured tasks such as stair climbs, weight hoisting, and mannequin dragging. Retired firefighter Joey Horton, 61, participated after a 16-year hiatus, completing the course in three minutes and 30 seconds. Chefs Compete for Top Honors at Coatesville's 'I Love Myself Some Food' Cook-Off

COATESVILLE, PA — On July 27, the "I Love Myself Some Food" Chef Cook-Off will take place at the Courtyard Marriott in Coatesville, PA. From 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, chefs will compete for top prizes and the chance to be the main event chef at the "I Love Myself" seminar. The event supports the Uncommon Women Podcast. Tasters can sample dishes and vote for their favorites, with general admission tickets at $15 and children's tickets at $10. Vendors will also showcase unique products.

New Comprehensive Plan Charts Future for East Caln Township

EAST CALN TWP — East Caln Township, PA, has updated its Comprehensive Plan, adopted in March. The $61,800 project, partly funded by a county grant, outlines goals and strategies in six areas: mobility, sustainability, recreation, economic development, services, and land use. West Bradford Township Hosts Classic Rock Night at Broad Run Park

WEST BRADFORD TWP — On August 7, West Bradford Township will welcome the classic rock cover band "Old and Busted" to Broad Run Park for an evening of nostalgic music. Starting at 5:30 PM, the band will perform beloved hits from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, providing a musical journey through three decades of rock. The event will also feature a selection of food and beverages from local vendors, including Animated Brewing, Harvest Ridge Winery, Saloon 151, Habanero Taco Express, and Scrapes & Scoops Ice Cream. Residents are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the concert in comfort.

Chester County Marks Disability Independence Day with Visit to Job-Training Café

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Chester County Commissioners celebrated National Disability Independence Day by visiting the County Cup, a café providing job training for individuals with disabilities. Established over 12 years ago, the program, a partnership between the county and CCIU, has expanded to six locations and offers valuable food service training. The initiative aims to foster independence and career readiness among participants.
