West Vincent Township Considers Ban on Single-Use Plastics
WEST VINCENT TWP โ West Vincent Township is considering an ordinance to ban single-use plastics, including plastic bags, straws, utensils, and polystyrene containers. The proposed law, set for a public hearing on July 17, aims to reduce environmental pollution and encourage sustainable practices among consumers and businesses. If adopted, the ordinance would take effect 90 days later, prohibiting businesses from providing single-use plastic bags but allowing recyclable paper bags for a nominal fee, with exemptions for certain assistance programs. Plastic straws and polystyrene containers would be available only upon request. The initiative is designed to protect wildlife, reduce pollution, and improve the quality of life for township residents. The hearing and possible vote will be held at 7 PM at the township building on St. Matthews Road in Chester Springs.
Prestigious Magnet Designation Awarded to Chester County Hospital for Third Time

This top national honor for nursing excellence is granted for four years and places the hospital among the top 10% of U.S. healthcare organizations. The rigorous evaluation process included documentation review, on-site visits, and leadership and staff participation.
